South Korea/Hae in 韩国/郑海仁
Hae in from South Korea is now studying Chinese at Shaanxi Normal University, who is quite interested in Chinese and South Korea culture. About Chinese Gaokao, she even made a PPT to display the differences and similarities.
Chinese Gaokao quite resembles that of South Korea, but is more complicated I think. In South Korea, we use the same test paper. While in China, the test paper in each province is slightly different. So I think Chinese students face with more pressure.
In South Korea, we only had one day for the exam on the Thursday of the second week of November. We also have two streams as liberal arts and science. Besides English, students learning liberal arts also need to choose a second language out of nine as German, French, Japanese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Chinese characters.
The similarity is that both Chinese and South Korean students believe the admission test for college can decide their future.
