Harmful waste refers to those garbage that threatens human health and natural environment, including waste rechargeable batteries, waste button cells, waste modulator tubes, discarded pills, discarded insecticide(container), discarded oil paint(container), waste daily-use chemicals and waste silver products etc.;
Other Waste 其他垃圾
In addition to the abovementioned waste, other waste includes waste sanitary pad, disposable diaper, napkin, cigarette butt, muck, bones and shells etc..
Household waste should be dumped, collected, transported and disposed after classification.
Any company and individual that dump waste violating the regulations shall be fined. Individuals will be fined from 100rmb to 200rmb and companies from 5000rmb to 20,000rmb. In addition, the misconduct information will be recorded in the individual credit reporting system.
In addition, from July 1, Shanghai hotels are not allowed to offer disposable daily necessities in rooms. Take a look if you are travelling to Shanghai recently!
According to Regulations of Shanghai Municipality on the administration of household garbage, hotels in Shanghai will be requested to promote green consumption. This will go into effect beginning July 1, 2019.
The municipal administration of culture and tourism is encouraging hotel guests to use and reuse recyclable daily consumables during their stay. This includes toothbrushes, combs, bath sponges and razors etc.. Violators will be fined up to 5,000 RMB.
