Qujiang Polar Ocean Park is conveniently located in Qujiang New District, the famous "National Cultural Industry Demonstration Zone".
To the west are the well-known Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Tang Ci'en Temple Relics Park; to the south are the Tang Furong Garden, Tang City Wall Relics Park and Qujiangchi Relics Park, the Royal Garden of the Tang Dynasty; to the southeast echoes from a distance with the Hanyao Relics Park and Qin Ershi Mausoleum Relics Park; the east side is connected with Zhonghai Community. The scenic spot is an ocean polar cultural theme park that displays the ocean world landscape and polar scenery. It integrates ocean polar cultural experience, leisure and entertainment, popular science education, square culture and other functions. The park is one of China's largest ocean polar theme parks, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and marine science education base.
The scenic area covers a total area of 70 acres and is mainly composed of the Aquarium, Polar Pavilion, Gold Coast Commercial Street and Haiyun Plaza. It is featured by marine animal exhibitions, theater performances, wild animal domestication and other projects.
The scenic spot displays all year around over 300 species, or 12,000 fresh and seawater fishes. Rare marine animals such as dolphins, polar bears, arctic wolves, Magellanic penguins have been introduced from abroad to give tourists a better sightseeing experience.
The aquarium, which is built on February 5, 2005, focuses on marine cultural performances and experience projects such as feeding freshwater, seawater creatures and animals, dancing with mermaids and sharks, admiring golden trevally, and diving.
The Polar Pavilion, built on February 5, 2013, features blue and white as the main tone, fully embodying the concept of "Ocean Polar". From multi-angle and all-round three-dimensional angle both above and under water, the Polar Pavilion displays polar bears, penguins, arctic wolves, seals, fur seals and other ornamental animals, and marine cultural themed performances such as dolphin shows.
